My main area of expertise is on the intersection of sports and interpersonal violence, though I can speak on topics such as campus sexual violence, Title IX, and how to do journalism about these issues.

To be clear, I am a journalist and a trained historian, which is how I approach any public forum I participate in. I can relay facts, experiences I have had interacting with and learning from sources, and analysis I have made or read about these particular topics. That is to say, I am not an advocate, a lawyer, a social worker, a trained prevention education specialist, nor a therapist.

Additionally, while in graduate school at the University of Texas, I taught multiple classes, worked as a discussion leader and teaching assistant many times, and participated in a variety of academic conferences. Those skills have served me well as a journalist and speaker.
